LAS VEGAS, NV --
“American Idol” champ David Cook and runner-up David Archuleta performed on “The View” today in Las Vegas. Both sang some of their best rated songs from the show and sang them well: David A. performed “Stand By Me” followed by David C. performing “Time of My Life”.

Anyone Special in your life?
David A: not thinking about that right now – focusing on the music
David C: played it coy, indicated there was someone (not giving Kimberly Caldwell’s name) who "is not here today".
Who were your idols (musically) growing up?
David A: admired Eva Cassidy for her sensitive & expressive style
David C: his parents, who were in the audience, were the biggest influence. “Dad played guitar and both are brilliant”
Thoughts on press re Dad Jeff Archuleta being controlling:
Jeff Archuleta (from audience): David is such a good kid that people couldn’t find anything bad to say about him.
David C: never saw anything from Jeff Archuleta but a loving, caring father.
The 51 city American Idol Tour starts July 1st.
